2004-07-05 - 8:12 p.m. train of thought: 15-215-15, road signs, "apple valley", "I have been neglecting my d-land", "update". rationalize: thursday afternoon, this was spoken--"vegas, baby!". so it goes. two hours later, we have a room booked and we're on the road with a bottle of bourbon. 15 north, 215 north, 15 north. at the end of that trail is vegas. and somewhere along that line, a sign was glowing in the headlights of our fast little car..."apple valley". now, I'm thinking at first that this sounds rather pleasant. not as pleasant, mind you, as "summerland", but still quite a ring. twenty minutes later, there is a gnawing at the back of my brain. "I know that name". so then "oh yeah, that's where melissa's from. wonder what she's up to." again at the back of the brain...chew chew chew. "oh yeah. I remember when she got me into d-land". and then I realized I haven't done shit here for a while. so it goes. only a few things to say really. 1. vegas is awesome like whoa. that said, it is terribly unnerving how the city at night resembles a bear trap. there are black mountainous teeth that stand out all around the horizon, and the jewel in the middle is the bait. and lemme tell you, that fucking trap springs hard. still fun, though. 2. there is a married girl at work. I think I'm crushing on her. that is no fucking good. 3. I have discovered a new hobby. maybe it's a hobby. religous history is frighteningly interesting to me. I devour the topic lately. and yet, the weird thing is that no matter how much I immerse myself in the subject, it doesn't change my religous view at all. meaning: I still am hardly religous. but there are good things to think about and there are new ways to hate the church. jesus freaks don't like my questions. they get mad. I made a song the other day in my head and I forgot it. I'm broke. the new wilco is rad. if you haven't bought it yet (stress: BOUGHT IT), pay attention to the cellophane before you rip it off the package. neat. a weekend of toxins, a month of cleansing. so it goes. 0 beatings so far |
